USING TWITTER ON YOUR CELLPHONE
**Read this before you set up your cellphone!!
Twitter doesn’t charge anything for this service but you have to
check with your cellphone provider to make sure you have a good
text messaging plan (so you don’t get a huge bill next month). I
switched to an unlimited text messaging plan so that I don’t have to worry about the charges each month.
Once you have a good text messaging plan, then you can follow the directions below...
First you click on “Settings” located on the top left of your page
Then you Click on the “Devices” tab.
Enter your mobile number and check the box underneath
to give Twitter the authority to send you messages.
In order to start receiving messages you must verify
your number by sending a text message with the code they provide.
Once you have done this, a text message is sent to you
saying your alerts are enabled. If don’t like it and you want to cancel these alerts,
send a text saying “stop” and they will disable this feature.
Another way
to cancel the texts is by going back to your “Devices” tab on your
computer, select off and save.
You also have an option to select what hours you don’t
want to receive messages. To do this check the box
“Turn off updates during these hours”
and select the time span preferred.
You’re all set. You can now receive messages and
update your status from your mobile phone!!
Have fun!!
