WHAT IS A NUDGE?
A nudge is when one of your friends requests for you to update
your Twitter profile. If you activated your cellphone, have your
notifications ON, and your friend thinks that it's been too long since
you updated Twitter, you may receive a message saying, "You've been nudged! PSDTUTS wants to know what you're doing. Reply to this message to update your Twitter friends." The nudge link is located on your friends’ profile pages in the right hand sidebar, under the actions section (only if the cellphone is activated).
There are 2 ways your followers can nudge you and you can nudge them. You can send a text from your cellphone saying “nudge + user’s name”. For example, nudge PSDTUTS. You can also nudge a friend using the link on the sidebar (see illustration above). You can only nudge someone if they are your friend and have a device registered. If their device is sleeping or off you cannot nudge them.
Now that you know what a nudge is, visit a friend’s page and if they haven’t updated Twitter in a while nudge them to see what they’re up to.
